I created this in homage to Robert Indiana’s iconic sculpture “LOVE” that now stands near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

On a south-facing, frosted, frozen window pane somewhere near the Canadian border I used my finger to melt out the letters L-O-V-E with the “O” at the appropriate angle.  Etching out the alphabet with body heat I felt my fingers freeze and had to stick them under my shirt numerous times during the process.

When it was finally done I closed the door and let it re-freeze over night.  The next morning with the low, dim, winter sun peeking through the glass I took this photo.  I tinted it cranberry red in photoshop.
